Israeli playwright, photographer and actor Gili Getz presents a one-man performance exploring his journey into the conversation about Israel in the Jewish-American community. On a recent trip to Israel, Gili experienced difficulty talking about Israel with his father for the first time in his life. Finding himself in a “forbidden conversation” and trying to grapple with how he got there, Gili embarked on a journey into the most complex, sensitive and contentious topic in the Jewish community -- Israel. The resulting performance “The Forbidden Conversation” was developed during the artist fellowship LABA (Laboratory for Jewish culture) at the 14th Street Y, where it premiered in the spring of 2015.
