Last summer’s demonstrations represented a great awakening among middle class Israelis, particularly young people, who poured into the streets by the hundreds of thousands to demand social justice.

Join J Street Boston, New Israel Fund, Moishe Kavod House, and Workmen's Circle as we hear from Stav Shiffir.

Stav Shaffir, a 27-year-old journalist and social activist, is one of the leaders of the Israeli social protest movement. She has been featured in Time Magazine, The New York Times, and on the BBC and her columns have been published in Haaretz, Yedioth Aharonot, TheMarker, Ynet, and the Jewish Review of Books. Before the 2011 protest movement was initiated, Stav worked as an editor for Yedioth Aharonot's website.
