As pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy Americans, we support Senator Chris Van Hollen’s Arms Accountability Amendment.

We must ensure that US funding for the defense of our allies and partners is used for that purpose – and not diverted in a way that would conflict with our values, threaten the safety of civilians, or undermine our shared interests.

This common-sense amendment, which applies to all aid recipients equally, ensures that Congress receives clear assessments on the recipient government’s compliance with international law, support for the delivery of humanitarian aid, and commitment to protecting civilian lives in armed conflict.
