Ask your representative to back President-Elect Biden in supporting a return to mutual compliance with President Obama’s Iran nuclear deal.
President Trump’s decision to trash the seven-nation Iran nuclear deal has been a disaster, repeatedly bringing us to the brink of a catastrophic war in the Middle East.
His campaign of ‘maximum pressure’ has failed. The threat to American allies and interests have gone up, not down. And the Iranian people, suffering cruel and excessive sanctions in the middle of a pandemic, now blame America rather than their own hardliners for the crisis.
The current situation is dangerous and unsustainable -- for the US, for Israel and for the region. Tell your representative to join the official House letter supporting Biden’s objective of a mutual return to compliance with the Iran deal.
As a constituent concerned about America’s national security and peace and stability in the Middle East, I’m urging you to sign onto the letter supporting President-Elect Biden’s intention to restore and build on the JCPOA (Iran nuclear deal).
As the letter makes clear, it is in the vital security interests of the United States and its allies to restore constraints on Iran’s nuclear program, return both Iran and the US to compliance with the JCPOA, and then pursue further negotiations on both nuclear and non-nuclear matters.
Trump’s approach to Iran over the past four years has failed, ratcheting up tensions and on occasion bringing us to the brink of war. Please support renewed diplomacy by signing onto the letter being circulated by Reps. David E. Price, Barbara Lee, Jan Schakowsky, Gregory Meeks, Joaquin Castro, Abigail D. Spanberger and Brad Sherman.
