We strongly urge you to add your name to the letter being circulated by your colleagues David Price, Barbara Lee, Jennifer Wexton and Joaquin Castro calling on the State Department to show strong, principled leadership to support peace, human rights and democratic freedoms for Israelis and Palestinians.

This critical letter comes as the Israeli right is pressing forward with plans for mass displacement and demolition of Palestinian communities and with major new settlement construction. It comes in the wake of terrible terror attacks that have taken the lives of 19 people in Israel since March.

The situation is deteriorating, with terrible consequences for both peoples. The US can and must do more to break the cycle of conflict, before it gets worse.

Decisive American leadership to secure Israel’s democratic future and protect Palestinian rights is as urgent as ever, and we cannot afford to sit on the sidelines.
