Donald Trump and the MAGA movement are shattering democratic norms and embracing neo-Nazi rhetoric as they target immigrant communities.

These vile attacks are how authoritarian movements grow. They dehumanize, they divide and they erode the very foundations of democracy.

We too were once immigrants and refugees. Welcoming those seeking opportunity, liberty and equality is an American ideal – one that made our families’ lives here possible.

Our Jewish tradition commands us to help and protect the stranger – and our own safety and survival depend on resisting those who would strip people of dignity and belonging.

We pledge to stand against fascism in America.
