The President’s suggestion of the US “taking over Gaza” is grotesque, unworkable and a violation of international law and our values – and we need as many Jewish Americans, allies and Members of Congress to stand up and say so.

We know that when the President muses about turning Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East,” he’s advocating for the US-backed destruction of an entire society. Forcing two million Palestinians – already weary from over a year of a devastating war – from their land is inhuman and unworkable, and only fuels endless violence, conflict and chaos for Israelis and Palestinians alike.

We will not sit idly by while Trump takes a wrecking ball to the fragile ceasefire that’s finally reuniting hostages with their families and keeping millions of civilians safe from harm.

We cannot be silent as the US President suggests forcing millions of civilians from their homes and suffering more than they’ve already been made to.

We stand with Representatives Casten and Sherman and all Members of Congress who demand the President retract his vile proposal.
