When President Trump eliminated funding for the Palestinians – including a sudden halt in US support for UNRWA – experts warned of a public health crisis. Today, as millions of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank face the COVID-19 pandemic with a battered economy and threadbare healthcare systems – we could be on the precipice of a horrific, preventable humanitarian catastrophe.

In recent days, members of the House and Senate have been calling on the administration to help mitigate the pandemic in the West Bank and Gaza, in particular by releasing funds already allocated by Congress.

But it will take massive pressure from the House and Senate to force the administration to act.
