Following Donald Trump’s reckless decision to launch strikes on Iran without congressional authorization, and in the total absence of long-term strategy, I urge you to support Senator Tim Kaine’s bipartisan War Powers Resolution.

Decisions of war and peace demand debate, accountability and a vote in Congress – not impulsive, unilateral action. We must make clear that no president has unilateral power to take this country to war without appropriate checks and balances.

It’s time to reassert Congress’s constitutional role and make clear that any further military action must be authorized by the people’s elected representatives.
