Dear Members of Congress,
We write as concerned Americans – many of us American Jews – in response to the sheer terror in the West Bank. Settler violence is not the work of “a few bad apples.” It is systemic.
In recent days, settlers have blocked Palestinian children from reaching their school after constructing a razor wire fence.
This was not an isolated incident. Palestinians are being squeezed from all sides: By settlement expansion, by ongoing violence, and by a lack of meaningful intervention from the Israeli government.
As Americans, we know our government has leverage. As American Jews, many of us see these actions as profoundly painful and at odds with our values.
As such, we urge you to use that leverage and demand that Israel take down the razor wire fence preventing Palestinian children from their school.
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
