Don't politicize the US-Israel relationship

Pro-Israel, pro-peace advocates all over hav spoken out and let Congress know that this speech by Prime Minister Netanyahu is a bad idea.

Now, please call the Israeli Consulate and let them know that you're concerned this speech is damaging America's historic, bipartisan support for Israel in order to serve narrow political aims.

    As a pro-Israel, pro-peace American, I'm deeply concerned about Prime Minister Netanyahu's upcoming speech to Congress.

    Bipartisan support for Israel is critical, and we can't risk undermining that strong tradition to serve narrow political interests--whether Prime Minister Netanyahu's hope of boosting his standing before the Israeli election or Speaker Boehners aim to undermine President Obama in the midst of a debate about America's Iran policy.

    That's why I think this speech should be postponed unti after Israel's election. Then, I look forward to an Israeli prime minister of any government being welcomed with strong bipartisan support in Congress.
