With the green light of Israel's Supreme Court, the Israeli Defense Force has begun preparations to demolish the Palestinian village of Khan al-Ahmar. The destruction of this community would displace 180 Palestinians and clear the way for Israel to expand settlements into the contentious E1 Area, thereby forming a block that would separate East Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank. That development poses a serious threat to prospects for a two-state solution by making the creation of a contiguous Palestinian state extraordinarily challenging.
International pressure is the best hope we have to save Khan al-Ahmar. Please call your nearest Israeli diplomatic mission today.
NOTE: When calling you should first ask who to speak to in order to leave a message for the Consul or the Ambassador.
If the office is closed and you get a voicemail machine, or a staff person passes you on to a voicemail machine, leave a message! The most important thing is that the consulates and embassy know that a high number of people are calling. A voicemail can help communicate that.
