Addressing J Street's 2016 National Gala, both Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry made it clear that true support for Israel's long-term security means working for a better future for both Israelis and Palestinians.

That's the spirit behind a new resolution introduced by Representatives John Yarmuth (KY-3) and David Price (NC-4) which would, in addition to other recommendations, put Congress on record:

• Opposing settlement expansion;
• Urging the reconvening of the joint Israeli-Palestinian-US commission to combat incitement;
• Encouraging the President to articulate a vision for a peace agreement that resolves final status issues; and
• Calling on Israel to take steps to improve the quality of life for Palestinians.
