The J Street NYC Israeli Network, in co-sponsorship with Temple Shaaray Tefila, is proud to host a panel discussion featuring two former IDF soldiers who served in the West Bank and Gaza. WHEN: Wednesday, April 30th at 7:00PM Oded Na’aman and Yoav Litvin will talk about their time as soldiers in the occupied territories and how those experiences have led them to realize that Israel must enact a two-state solution, through negotiations with the Palestinians, to ensure a safe and democratic future for the state of Israel. Oded and Yoav will take audience questions after a panel discussion. |
Oded Na'aman is an Israeli writer, essayist, and activist. He is a co-founder of Breaking the Silence, a group of Israeli veterans who collect testimonies of soldiers from the occupied territories. Oded has published articles and essays in Haaretz, The Huffington Post, Boston Review, The American Conservative, Open Zion, The Guardian, and The Nation. He is currently earning his PhD in Philosophy at Harvard University.
Yoav Litvin is a doctor of Psychology/Behavioral Neuroscience, currently conducting his postdoctoral research at The Rockefeller University in NYC. Yoav served as a paratrooper and medic in the IDF for three years, during which he spent long months in the occupied territories and in southern Lebanon. Yoav will speak of his personal experiences and the realities of the occupation.
