There is an urgent need to alleviate the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. A debilitating lack of power, potable water, jobs and adequate medical care have plagued the Palestinian coastal enclave for far too long.
We have all watched in horror at recent clashes on the Gaza border, but up to now, too little has been done to alleviate the suffering of Gaza residents that helps feed this cycle of violence.
To address the underlying causes of these crises, Senator Bernie Sanders is calling on his colleagues to join him in urging the State Department to:
- Restore funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)
- Encourage the easing of restrictions on people, goods and equipment across the Gaza border
- Help build Gaza’s infrastructure and economy to reduce reliance on outside aid
Call your senators and ask them to help end the humanitarian crises in Gaza by signing onto the Sanders letter.
