Embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made Israeli annexation of the West Bank a central pledge in his reelection campaign. In recent days, he has called on his political rivals to join him in moving forward with annexation, and claimed President Trump has given him a green light to annex huge swaths of the West Bank.

Annexation would doom Palestinians to permament occupation and lead to disastrous consequences for Israel's democracy and security.

With President Trump refusing to step in, it's vital that Congress speak up. In the coming days, the House will vote on H.Res.326, legislation that firmly opposes West Bank annexation and asserts longstanding US opposition to continued settlement expansion.
