Recent crackdowns by Israeli authorities on civil society groups in the West Bank violate the principles of justice and democracy upon which Israel itself was founded.

As supporters of a just and democratic Israel, we call on your administration to again insist that the Israeli government provide clear evidence to substantiate their claims of wrongdoing and “terrorism” by targeted human rights groups. If such evidence is not immediately forthcoming, America must publicly call on Israeli authorities to reverse course.

The United States must support a just, safe and democratic future for all Israelis and Palestinians, and stand with our allies in the region who are working toward that future. We have seen all too painfully the deadly escalations that such human rights violations can trigger.
