Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is one of many Israeli politicians calling for the annexation of large areas of the West Bank. These actions would condemn Palestinians to permanent occupation, do immense damage to Israeli democracy and constitute a flagrant violation of international law.

Moreover, Trump administration officials -- including Jared Kushner -- have openly rejected statehood for Palestinians. Right-wing Israeli politicians have said that the administration's decision to no longer call settlements "illegal" opens the door to the annexation of some or all of the West Bank.

Congress needs to act now. House Resolution 326 makes clear that Congress stands firmly against annexation of the West Bank and staunchly supports a two-state solution.
