2013 J Street U Student Leadership Summit

The J Street U 2013 Student Leadership Summit will bring together hundreds of students from across the country for three days of learning, strategizing, workshops, and discussions on the most pressing issues related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Students from J Street U’s nearly 50 campus chapters will meet in Washington, DC for the organization's first-ever student-organized and student-led national leadership summit. We will be joined by some of the most interesting people addressing this issue – Israelis, Palestinians, Americans and others who are all involved in the work of achieving a just and lasting peace in the region. If you are involved with J Street U on your campus or interested in advocacy for a two-state solution, we encourage you to attend this remarkable gathering.

TIME AND LOCATION:

Saturday, March 16, 5:00 PM -- Monday, March 18, 2:00 PM
Location: National 4-H Youth Conference Center, just outside Washington, DC.

Please note: The Summit Advocacy Day will take place on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, March 19 from 8:30 AM -- 4:00 PM. Registration for Advocacy Day is limited to the first 50 students who apply, and is reserved for founders, co-founders, presidents, co-presidents, and vice-presidents of J Street U chapters. If you plan to attend Advocacy Day, please consider your housing needs for Monday, March 18 when purchasing your ticket below, and indicate your interest in Advocacy Day on the Further Information form.

COST: REGISTRATION $36; ADD HOUSING FOR $20

    • • To cover event space and food expenses, J Street U is asking for an advance registration payment of $36. Students may purchase housing at the 4-H Center for an additional flat $20 fee. 

    • • If possible, please pay by submitting your credit card information below. You may also make out a check for $36 or $56 to the J Street Education Fund, and mail it to P.O. Box 66073, c/o Helen Knight, Washington, DC 20035. We ask for payments to be submitted before March 1, 2013. 

    • • Registration includes all meals from dinner on the 16th through lunch on the 18th, transportation to Capitol Hill, and breakfast and lunch on March 19. The $36 registration fee does not include housing, dinner on March 18, or personal travel costs. 

    • • Registration and housing payments are refundable until February 1, 2013.

 OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

    • • Due to limited space at the Student Leadership Summit, priority registration is given to students who are already involved with J Street U on their campuses. If you are not yet involved and interested in attending, find your organizer's name and contact her here.

    • • Consider seeking funding for the Student Leadership Summit from sources in your community and on campus, such as your campus Hillel, local Federation, campus Office of Civic Engagement/Leadership Development, academic departments, or local congregations. Contact your organizer for assistance.
